Abingdon United WFC are delighted to confirm the appointment of Charlie Read as Head Coach of the Women’s First Team.
After a thorough appointment process Charlie joins the club following extensive experience at MK Dons Women’s FC set up.
Abingdon United’s Vice-Chairman, Stefan Caira, said, “After a thorough and highly competitive recruitment process, we are very pleased to welcome Charlie to Abingdon United. As we continue to drive the women’s programme forward, Charlies leadership, drive and vision will be invaluable in helping us achieve our ambitions this season and beyond.”
Speaking about being appointed Charlie had to say:
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to become First Team Manager of Abingdon United.
I would like to thank Stefan, the interview panel and everyone at the club for the faith they have shown in me. It is a privilege to be given the chance to lead the first team at a club with such a strong family feel whilst being ambitious for the future.
I know there is a lot of hard work ahead, and I approach this role with a great deal of respect for the people who have contributed to the club’s history and progress. My focus will be on working closely with the players, staff, volunteers, and supporters to help move the club forward together.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone involved with Abingdon United and doing my very best to represent the club in the right way.
