We're delighted to announce the signing of attacking player, Amy Wainwright, for our U18s side.

Wainwright joins The Yellows after a spell with fellow Oxfordshire Girls Football League side Didcot Town.

Able to play across the frontline, Amy scored against United back in April, when our U17s played at The Northcourt for the first time.

After a brilliant campaign with Didcot in 2024/25, Wainwright will continue her football journey under the leadership of Liz Fuller and Laura King.

Amy said on joining United: "Playing within a more competitive league will push me to progress as a player and I’m thankful Abingdon United has given me that opportunity.

"Moving into pre-season, I’m looking forward to play my part for this team.

"The commitment and positivity from the coaches and the players sets a good tone for the team, I’m looking forward for the season to start."

U18s Coach Fuller said on Amy joining the Club: "We’re buzzing to welcome Amy to the squad.

"She’s no stranger to us, having always given us a proper battle when playing for Didcot. A top, top player with a hunger to score, great game awareness, and serious quality on the pitch.

"Me and Laura are absolutely chuffed to have her on board."
