Supporting us, in the right way.
Abingdon Utd FC has a team of volunteers, coaching staff and players who are working hard to improve our club, both on and off the pitch. The recent promotion of our Men’s First team has led to us drawing increasing crowds in 2025 – and we’re delighted that so many supporters, both old and new – have been coming to The Northcourt to cheer us on.
Following a home match earlier this month, a complaint was made by an official about a small number of our supporters - which is likely to lead to the club being fined a significant amount of money. We are trying to raise funds to improve our facilities and offer a great match day experience for all of you. So spending hard earned funds on fines linked to supporter behaviour is something we must avoid at all costs.
We know that this incident relates to a small minority of our supporters. But we need to remind everybody to support us in the right way, whether we are at home or away. Showing respect to our own players and staff, the opposition and the officials, at all times.
Therefore, any acts of either verbal or physical abuse to anyone at our matches will lead to you being banned from The Northcourt.
In respect to officials, it is important to be clear on the type of behaviour which will not be tolerated:
•Supporters should not approach officials as they leave the pitch
•Supporters should not approach officials in our clubhouse or bar
•Supporters should not approach officials in our car park, or as they leave the ground
We will keep working hard to make Abingdon Utd a vibrant community hub and a positive experience for everyone who visits us.
Thank you for your continued support,
Alan Midwinter, Chairman.
