Issy Bradley joins Abingdon United!

Abingdon United WFC11 Jul - 18:30

The midfielder had a standout season in the 2024/25 campaign, and will now play in the FA Women's National League for the first time...

We're delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Issy Bradley.

Formerly of Bristol City's youth, Bradley joins The Yellows after a brilliant season in Tier Five at Oxford City, where she won the clubs Young Player of the Season.

She made 22 appearances in all competitions last time out, scoring seven goals in the process. After successfully trialing for United in June, Bradley has signed on for Chris Smith's side.

Bradley could feature in our first pre-season game against her former club.

On signing for United, Issy said: "I'm really excited. The season that lies ahead will be full of lots of opportunities, and I'm really excited to start.

"Abingdon United offers a tier four experience which I think will be a really good challenge for me. After coming along to the trials, the girls were really nice. It seems like a really nice club and a good opportunity."

Manager Chris Smith, who Issy played under at Oxford City, said on the midfielder joining: "We don’t need an influx of players through the door, we need quality and that’s what we are getting.

"Getting to coach Issy Bradley again is something that I had hoped would happen when I coached her previously.

"A talented, humble, hard working, kind and polite player who wants to improve at everything. She came to trials and won over the players and coaches, personally I already know Issy and her unreal talent but the players were able to see it too.

"We have a wonderful team and Issy Bradley is going to add to that roster. It’s testament to us that we have been able to attract someone of her talent

"We’re excited, the girls are excited and everyone will get to see her grow at The Northcourt in the 2025/26 season. Welcome Issy B."

Issy will wear the number 14 shirt for Chris Smith's side in the 2025/26 FA Women's National League campaign.
