We're delighted to announce that Maisy Godfrey will be back at Abingdon United next season, on a permanent basis.
Having initially joined on a dual-registration from Oxford United, the youngster will now join Chris Smith's squad permanently ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Godfrey made her senior debut in February, coming on as a second half substitution against Swindon Town.
She went onto make five appearances in the FA Women's National League, whilst also appearing for our development side in their Chairman's Cup winning campaign.
Maisy said on staying at the club: "I'm absolutely buzzing to play for Abingdon United for another season. After joining to last year it was no-brainer to stay.
"The whole set-up of the club from the girls to the management has been really impressive and this club is going in the right direction.
"I can’t wait to get going and give everything for this club."
Manager Chris Smith said: "Maisy joined us last year as part of our connection with Oxford United.
"Maisy is extremely talented but people also forget how young she is. To have the composure and technical ability she does at her age, it’s scary to think of the talent that is still to come.
"She will gain valuable experience throughout the season and it will be great to watch another talented player from the Oxford area."
