Abingdon United Women Development conclude their 2024/25 campaign with a Chairman's Cup Final in Beaconsfield on Thursday evening, against Oxford City in a 7:30pm kickoff.
The Yellows, guided by Jon Ward and Paul Biddle, beat QK Southampton, Caversham United and AFC Stoneham on the way to the final, and face higher league opposition in the season finale in Buckinghamshire.
Oxford City finished their league Southern Region Women's Football League Premier campaign in 4th place with 34 points, in tier 5 of the women's football pyramid. Having clinched the Oxfordshire FA County Cup not too long ago, they'll be looking to add to that this week.
The Hoops beat Woodley United, Wimborne Town and Bournemouth Sports Reserves to reach the final, and like United Development, will hope to go the full way.
However, they'll face an Abingdon United side who have hit form in recent months. The development side have tasted defeat just once since the end of February, losing only to league champions and Thursday's hosts, Beaconsfield Town.
After an incredible campaign for all our sides at Abingdon United, The Yellows, who are underdogs for the Final, will be looking to add another chapter to that under the lights.

Pre-Match Thoughts: Jon Ward and Jess Southey
United Development Women go into tonight's game as the lower ranked side, a league below our opposition Oxford City.
Coach Jon Ward is looking for the players to embrace the occasion in Beaconsfield.
Ward said: "We are really looking forward to the game in Beaconsfield. It’s a wonderful set up with great facilities. We are excited to play a very good team in Oxford City.
"They are obviously the league above us and have done well this season. We will certainly have to be on our game to give them a competitive match.
"The girls thoroughly deserve this opportunity and we’re really hoping that they just enjoy the occasion and give it they’re all and do themselves justice."
Defensive player Jess Southey has been a key part of the United side to reach the final.
She said ahead of the game: "Throughout the season we have progressed as a team and I think if we turn up with the commitment we did in our semi finals, we could have a great outcome against a tough opposition.
"We have battled throughout this cup and we deserve the end result."
