We're delighted to announce that Poppy Wannell will continue at Abingdon United in the FA Women's National League next season.
Having joined the Club from Bristol Rovers in January, the wide player scored on her debut against Bournemouth Sports.
Wannell made eight appearances for Chris Smith's side last time out, scoring once and assisting twice as United secured FAWNL survival.
Poppy said on re-signing: “I joined Abingdon towards the end of last season which was the best decision I'd made.
"I’ve got my love for football back and met some amazing people whilst being here.
"The management and players have made me feel part of the team from day one and I look forward to continuing my football journey with an amazing bunch of people.”
Manager Chris Smith said: "Poppy joined us halfway through the season last year and came in an extremely talented young lady with zero confidence.
"By the end of the season we had extremely talented young lady who worked so hard and the talent was finally shining through because a smile was on her face.
"To watch the way she grew, but also the inclusivity she had in the group was touching to see.
"2025/26 we get to see her for a full season and hopefully watch her grow with this group, whilst making a stamp on the league and games
"Without doubt, you want Poppy in your squad than against you and we have that."
