We can confirm that Sophie Kirby will depart Abingdon United this summer, after eight years at the club.

The goalkeeper was part of the first ever squad from when United Women formed back in 2017, alongside United skipper Nell Boxall.

Kirby made 65 appearances across eight seasons, helping United to three promotions during her time at the Club.

Sophie said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Abingdon. There has been so many highs, including winning the treble in our first ever season and getting promoted to the National League, memories I will cherish forever!

"I have been so fortunate to play with so many talented and incredible people. I want to say a huge thank you to the coaches who have supported and believed in me throughout my Abingdon journey. It is a club that will always have a special place in my heart."
