Abingdon United U14 enjoyed a memorable evening in the Netherlands as they faced local side GRC14 in a friendly match ahead of the Brabant Boys Cup. Played at the impressive Sportpark Almbos in Giessen, the match began with a formal opening featuring both national anthems and an exchange of gifts — a gesture of mutual respect that set the tone for the evening.

Backed by a large and enthusiastic crowd that included many young players curious to meet the visiting English team, our U14s delivered a strong performance, winning 6–0. Every player gave their best, and the match was a wonderful display of skill, sportsmanship, and team spirit.

The facilities at GRC14 were outstanding, with two 4G pitches, three grass pitches, and a modern clubhouse that serves as a real community hub — even hosting a kindergarten during the week. The hospitality extended to our players, coaches, and families was second to none. We are grateful to our hosts for their warm welcome and for providing a truly unforgettable experience.
